CVDA
GENERAL POLICIES
By registering for classes or camps with CVDA you agree to follow ALL CVDA polocies.
GENERAL POLICIES
Safety: Each dancer’s safety is our top priority. Parents and guardians, thank you for picking your student up on time after class. Parents of students ages 10 and under, please arrive before class ends and escort your child to and from the studio. For everyone’s safety and protection, students 10 and under will not be allowed to leave the studio unaccompanied or to be picked up curbside.
For students’ well-being, dancers should wear street clothes over their dancewear when entering and leaving the studio premises. Regular street shoes should be worn, as wearing dance shoes on any surface other than the dance floor can shorten the life of the dance shoe and our dance floor
Class Age and Level Guidelines: Age and Level is listed as a guideline. If you do not see a class listed for your child’s age or level, please contact us. We will be happy to help you find a class that will work for your dancer and your schedule. All Intermediate and Advanced classes require Director Placement. Competition Team placement requires an audition in June.
Class Enrollment Minimum: If a class has less than 3 students enrolled, the class may be cancelled, and students will be offered an alternative class. You will be notified by email if a class will be cancelled.
Attendance: Students are expected to attend class regularly and on time. A dancer more than 10 minutes late will acquire a “late arrival.” Two or more “late arrivals” equal 1 absence. After March 1, no more than 4 absences will be allowed for recital participation. This rule is for the benefit of each student and enables each student to fully benefit from the progressive nature of dance training.
Absences: Make-up classes due to absence must be arranged through the office and must be taken within 1 month from the absence. Make-ups are possible only if a comparable class is available. No Make up classes between March 1 and June 30.
Leave of Absence: A student’s spot in class will not be held without tuition paid during the time of the student’s absence, with the exception of family emergency. Dropping a class/not paying tuition forfeits the student’s place in class and can be taken by a new student. If you need to take a leave of absence due to family emergency, you must contact the office before the leave takes place.
Make-up Classes: All make-up classes must be scheduled through the office and taken within one month of the absence, with the exception of family emergencies. Make-up classes are scheduled in open, comparable classes only. No make-up classes will be scheduled March - June, due to recital preparations and rehearsals.
Class Changes: Changes from one class to another are made with director approval only. If a change needs to be made due to a scheduling conflict or other placement matter, please notify the director. Teachers are not able to give class change permission. No class changes will be made after March 1.
Studio Info: Newsletters, notices, and up-to-date information will be posted on the “info board” in the lobby, as well as online. Parents, please check the studio white board posted with weekly reminders and open studio e-mails to keep up with important and ever-changing studio news. The monthly newsletter will be sent out via e-mail and available at the studio.
Observing Class: Guests are welcome to observe classes during Visitor’s Week only. These dates will be posted on our website calendar and in the studio. If a special family member is visiting from out of town and would like to observe, please clear with the office. Guests are welcome to watch from the lobby at anytime.
Personal Property: CVDA is not responsible for personal property. Please, label all shoes, bags, backpacks, and personal items. Personal items should be brought into the classroom and stored in specified areas during class.
Schedule: Class schedule is subject to change at any time.
Dance Etiquette & Classroom Behavior

· Students of all ages are expected to thank the teacher when leaving.

· Restroom use – Studio Room #1 restroom is for both boys and girls. Studio Room #3 restroom is for girls only. When coming into a class to use the restroom, please do NOT enter the room where our pre-school classes are taking place, as this can be very distracting to our younger dancers.
Respecting teachers, fellow classmates, and self by following these classroom rules is imperative to a positive dance experience. In the very rare instance that a student is uncommonly disruptive or disrespectful, he/she will be asked to sit in the lobby. Should a student be dismissed from the studio for disruptive behavior, no tuition refund will be given.
CVDA reserves the right to refuse instruction to any student, parent, or guardian for not adhering to our rules, policies, and procedures. Thank you for your cooperation, as these rules are established for the safety and well-being of our entire dance family.
